Our adventure based learning ABL certificates are the essence of what AdventureWorks is. We are in our 20th year of running these certificates and still going strong.
Certificate in Personal Development ABL, Level 2 – 6-9 credits
467 Demonstrate personal and social development through participation in adventure based learning 3 credits
470 Demonstrate personal and social development through participation in a low ropes course programme 3 credits
473 Demonstrate personal and social development through participation in a high ropes course programme 3 credits
This is a four-day program delivered at either the AdventureWorks Challenge Course in Auckland, Waharau Outdoor Education Centre or Mighty River Domain at Lake Karapiro.
This programme can assess Achievement Standard 2.10, It can also contribute to AS 2.6, AS 2.7 and AS 2.8
Certificate in Adventure Leadership and Risk Management, Level 3 – 12 credits
471 or 474 Assist in the facilitation of a low/high ropes course programme for the development of participants, 6 credits each
20146 Demonstrate basic risk management for outdoor recreation, 5 credits
This programme can assess Achievement Standard 3.7
Students participating in this program must have had prior experience operating independently on the challenge course. If they have not we can deliver a pre training program. The training includes two days which is then followed by two days of assessment. This program requires work to be completed in school prior to and after.
Certificate in Adventure Leadership ABL, Level 3 – 6-12 credits
471 and/or 474 Assist in the facilitation of a low/high ropes course programme for the development of participants, 6 credits each
The requirements and delivery structure of this program are the same as the Certificate in Adventure Leadership and Risk Management. There is less theory involved in this program is the risk Management unit standard is not included.
The Adventure of Leadership, Level 3-3 credits
24663 Demonstrate leadership while participating in an adventure based learning programme, 3 credit
This is a three-day program based at one of the challenge courses we operate. There is no previous experience required.
